| 解説 | ハングル： 무지개 다리를 건너다 ハングル発音：ムジゲタリルルコンノダ 意味：虹の橋を渡る 解説： 死を和らげた表現。主に一緒に暮らしていたペットの死について使われる。 1980年代に作られたという詩、『虹の橋（The Rainbow Bridge）』がある。 正式に発表された作品でもなく、人々によって話継がれてきた詩だ。 北欧の神話に影響を受けたという『虹の橋』は、内容が少しずつ違う様々なバージョンがあるが、原著者は未詳だ。アメリカ人という話も、イギリス人という話もある。 詩の内容を紹介する。 愛されていた動物が死んだら、常に食べ物があって、温かくて、元気になり、もう一度若くなる草原に行く。草原は平和で自由だが、動物は自分を大切にしてくれた主人を懐かしむ。そうして主人が死んだら、草原で会って一緒に虹の橋を渡ることになる。 この詩が愛犬、愛描家の間で広がり、「My Dog（Cat） Crossed The Rainbow Bridge」という言葉が広く使われるようになった。そして、韓国の愛犬家、愛猫家にも伝わって使われ始めた。 『虹の橋』の英語の原本を紹介しよう。 The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
